Ty Oliver
Ty's path through music reads like a choose-your-own-adventure book. He started on drums, switched to guitar, and eventually landed in Powerman 5000, where he played alongside Spider One from 2015 to 2022, touring relentlessly and recording as part of one of the most recognizable industrial/alt-metal acts of the late '90s and 2000s. In 2024, he joined Orgy as their guitarist, adding another chapter to an already stacked resume.
But somewhere in between the heavy riffs and road miles, Ty felt pulled toward something completely different. In 2019, he launched Raygun Romance, a synthpop and darkwave project where he handles everything: vocals, lyrics, keys, programming, and production. A self-taught musician who doesn't read or write traditional notation, Ty builds everything by feel, blending 80s-influenced synth textures with deeply personal songwriting about heartbreak, love, and depression. What started as a studio collaboration has become a fully solo creative vision, with tracks like "Adore You," "Make It Last," and the recent EP "Last Time" earning attention in the dark electronic world.
Whether you're into industrial, synthpop, darkwave, or just love hearing from musicians who refuse to be boxed in, this one's going to be a great conversation.
