Free stage plot makers, compared

Most stage plot makers are free to start, and each one draws the line somewhere different: a watermark, a paid PDF, an account, or a share link that expires. Here is where each one draws it, and what each does best. We make one of them, so our own entry says what it doesn't do. Judge for yourself.

Checked on each tool's own site or store listing on and October 20, 2026. Prices change; check before you pay.

    Free tier
Download a PDF without registering. A free account keeps one rider; its pricing page says public links don't expire.
    Exports
Unlimited PDFs (the free ones carry a Ridermaker link; Pro removes it) and public links. Exporting to a mixing desk is on Pro.
    Best for
A whole rider, plot included, kept in one place. The most visited stage plot site in our research.
  4. TecRider

    Price
Free to start, a $0.99 two-day pass, or $19 for life.
    Free tier
Its site says you can design and export a PDF free, with no registration. The app itself limits guests to 3 icons and free accounts to 6, and lists PDF export as Pro. We haven't tested it hands-on.
    Exports
PDF with the plot, equipment list and setlist, and a share link. Six languages.
    Best for
Bands who want the setlist and equipment list with the plot, for a one-time price.
  5. Stage-Plan

  6. Stageplot Pro (stageplotpro.app)

    Price
Free in early access. A $69 a year plan is announced.
    Free tier
Everything during early access. The free tier is planned to get a watermark and a three-plot limit, and it says plots you've already saved are never deleted or locked.
    Exports
PDF with the plot and the input list, a share link, and scene files for Behringer X32, Yamaha and Allen & Heath desks.
    Best for
Engineers who want console scene files from the plot.

Image exports for an EPK or a website.
  8. StageOn

    Free tier
With an account: one project, 12 to 16 channels, and a watermarked PDF.
    Exports
A link that always shows the latest version, PDF, and XLSX and CSV on Pro.
    Best for
Production and worship teams who want the plot, the channel routing and the mixing desk kept in sync.
  9. StageBuilder Pro

    Price
    Free, $10 or $20 a month, or $400 once.
    Free tier
Build without an account. Exporting the PDF, the input lists or a share link needs a free account.
    Exports
One PDF rider with a 2D plan, a 3D view and input and output lists, CSV, and scene files for X32, M32 and Wing desks, which it calls a prototype to check on the desk.
    Best for
A 3D view of the stage, and riders for bigger productions.
  10. miked.live

    Price
    Free.
    Free tier
Build and download with no login. Saving and sharing ask you to create an account.
    Exports
One PDF with the input list, the stage plot and rider notes, and a PNG of the plot. A 3D view of the stage. The input list comes from the instruments you pick, rather than from what you place.
    Best for
A free one-PDF rider in a few minutes, with a 3D look at the stage.
  11. Stage Plan Master (Pelix)

    Price
    Free, with ads.
    Free tier
A phone and tablet app for Android and iPhone or iPad. Its store listings mention no paid tier, no limits and no account.

    Best for
A simple stage diagram made on a phone.
  12. Tourouter stage plot makerOurs

    Price
    Free.
    Free tier
Everything, with no account and no limit on plots. No watermark: the PDF has one small credit line in its footer. Plots are saved in your browser; save the plot file to move one to another computer.
    Exports
A vector PDF with the plot and input list on one page for most bands, the input list as CSV, and a plot file you can open again in the maker on any computer.
    Best for
Small bands who want the input list, monitors and power built from the plot, and gear marked as theirs, the house's, shared or rented.
    Doesn't do
    • No console scene files. Stageplot Pro (.app), StageBuilder Pro and Ridermaker's Pro plan do this.
    • No 3D view. StageBuilder Pro has one.
    • English only. TecRider is in six languages.
    • The PDF prints Latin letters only for now, so Cyrillic, Greek and CJK names print as "?". The maker warns you when it happens.
    • No phone app. It works in a phone's browser.

This is a selection, not every tool. Also worth knowing: Stagediver (free in beta, account needed), RiderForge (a rider builder with a free tier), Daysheets (a tour management app with a free stage plot tool), and phone apps like StagePlot Guru, sold for a one-time price. We haven't covered those in the same depth. SoundDocs, a free open-source tool, closed on September 1, 2026; its code says to export your data, run your own copy, or move to eventools, which it links to (eventools has free and paid plans).

Looking for Stage Plot Pro?

The original Stage Plot Pro was a desktop app for Mac and Windows, sold at stageplot.com for $39.99. Its last listed version was 2.9.9.2, and it exported plots as PDF and JPEG. The site has since gone, and the app can't be bought from its maker any more. Whether old copies still activate on today's computers, we can't say.

Two newer, unrelated web apps use the name: Stageplot Pro at stageplotpro.app and Stage Plot Pro at stageplotpro.org. Both are described above. Neither is the old app.

If you liked the old one for its plain symbols and a PDF you could print, ours keeps to that: line drawings with a label on everything, black and white, free, and no account.

Questions

Picking a stage plot maker.

What is the best free stage plot maker?

It depends on what you need. For a quick simple plot, Boss Radio's Stage Plot Designer is free and needs no account. For a full rider in one place, Ridermaker. For console scene files, Stageplot Pro. We built Tourouter's to be free with no account or watermark, with the input list, monitors and power built from the plot.

Which stage plot makers export a PDF for free?

When we checked on October 19 and 20, 2026: Boss Radio's Stage Plot Designer and stage-plot.app (through the browser's print), Ridermaker (with a Ridermaker link on it), Stageplot Pro .app (during early access), miked.live, Stage Plan Master and Tourouter, plus StageOn with a watermark, and Stage Plot Pro .org, whose upgrade page suggests a watermark. StageBuilder Pro needs a free account first. Stage-Plan's PDF is paid, and TecRider's site and app disagree.

Is Stage Plot Pro still available?

The original desktop Stage Plot Pro can't be bought from its maker any more; its site is gone. Two unrelated web apps now use the name, at stageplotpro.app and stageplotpro.org. See the section above.

Do I need an account?

Not to make a plot with Boss Radio's designer, stage-plot.app, Ridermaker, TecRider, Stage-Plan, Stage Plot Pro .org, miked.live or Tourouter (and Stage Plan Master's listings mention none). StageOn needs one, StageBuilder Pro needs one to export, Ridermaker needs one to keep a rider saved, and miked.live needs one to save or share.

Are these prices current?

They are what each site said on October 19 and 20, 2026. Plans change, especially for tools that are new or in early access, so check the site before you pay. If something here is wrong, email support@tourouter.com and we will fix it.
