Create a tour and add your dates
Start a tour, put the run in one city at a time or paste the list, attach venues, and fill in each day with times, hotels and notes.
On this page
A tour in Tourouter is one run: a name, the dates, and everything that happens on each of those dates. Each date is a day, and every day has a type: a show day with a venue, a travel day for driving, or a day off.
Planning a tour is free with no time limit. You only pay when the tour goes on the road.
Create the tour
- Open the tour switcher in the top bar and choose New tour. (Or open All tours and click New tour.)
- Enter a Tour name, like “Spring run”.
- Add Starts and Ends if you know them. Both are optional.
- Add Notes if you like.
- Click Create the tour. You land on the tour’s route board, ready for dates.
- Tap More, then Tours.
- Tap + in the top right.
- Enter a Tour name, a Start date and an End date. You can change the dates later.
- Add Notes if you like, and tap Save.
Already have the dates on a flyer, a PDF or in an email? Skip typing them in and import them instead.
Add dates on the web
The web’s route board is the fastest way to lay out a whole run. The dates run down the left, with the drive between each stop.
- On an empty board, type a city and press Enter, then the next city, and so on.
- For a day with no show, type off for a day off or drive for a travel day.
- To put the date and the venue in one go, type a line like Oct 16 | Mobile | Saturn.
- Already have the list? Click Paste a list, choose the date it Starts, paste one city a line, and click Add these dates.
- Doing this run again? Click Import a past tour to start from a tour you have already done.
Once dates exist, the box at the bottom of the list keeps working the same way: type the next city, or paste more.
Add dates on the phone
- Open the Dates tab and tap +.
- Pick the Date. It starts on the day after your last date.
- Choose the Day type: Show, Travel or Off.
- Pick a Status (see below).
- For a show, enter the Venue name and search for its Address.
- For a show, you can add the Guarantee and Door deal % now or later.
- Tap Add date. The new day opens.

Attach a venue
A show day needs a venue so the day sheet has an address and the drive times work.
- Click the date on the route board.
- In the Show section, click Venue.
- Search your venues and Google, and pick the right one. Click Attach to confirm.
- Playing a DIY space Google does not list? Choose Create a new venue, enter the name, city and state, and click Create and attach.
- Open the day.
- On the venue card, tap Edit venue and enter the venue and its address.
- Tap Save changes.
Show day, travel day or day off
- On the route board, click the › at the end of the date’s row.
- Under Day type, choose Show day, Drive day or Day off.
- Open the day and tap the pencil to Edit day.
- Change the Day type and tap Save.
Where each show stands
Shows move from an idea to a signed contract. The status says where each one is, so nobody books a hotel for a show that is only on hold.
- Planning (called Idea on the web board): you want the date, nothing is asked yet.
- Inquiry: you have asked the venue or promoter.
- Hold: the venue is holding the date for you. On the web you can set which hold you are, and a challenge date.
- Confirmed: the show is happening.
- Contracted: the paperwork is signed.
On the web, click the status chip at the top of a date. On the phone, open the day, tap Edit day and change Status.
Fill in the day
- Open the day.
- Tap Add schedule entry, choose a Type like Load in or Soundcheck, set when it Starts, and tap Add entry. Turn on Notify the team to send a reminder before it.
- Tap Add lodging for the hotel: name, address, check in and check out, and the front desk phone. Tap Save.
- Tap the pencil to Edit day and write anything the band needs to know under Notes, like which door to load in through.
- Click the date on the route board.
- On the Day sheet tab, under Schedule, click Add a time and fill in the time, category and label.
- Under Lodging, click Add a place.
- Write anything the band needs to know under Day notes.
Switch between tours
- Click the tour card in the top bar.
- Pick the tour.
- On Today, Dates or Finance, tap the tour name under the title.
- Pick the tour.
Next: invite your band and crew.
