Rodney Orpheus of The Cassanda Complex

Formed in 1980 in Leeds, England, The Cassandra Complex blends elements of industrial, gothic rock, darkwave, and post-punk, creating a sound that’s been described as a fusion of Joy Division, the Ramones, and Kraftwerk. With a career spanning over four decades, the band has released influential albums like Grenade, Cyberpunx, and The Plague.

Beyond his work with The Cassandra Complex, Rodney has collaborated with artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Die Krupps, and Future Sound of London. He’s also been a key contributor to music technology development, notably in the early adoption and evangelism of Virtual Studio Technology (VST).

Rodney is also an accomplished author, known for Abrahadabra: Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thelemic Magick and Grimoire of Aleister Crowley, bringing a deep knowledge of occultism and spirituality into his creative life.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering his work, don’t miss this conversation with one of the most unique voices in dark alternative music.
