Rona Rougeheart
Rona Rougeheart is the creative force behind SINE, an electronic/industrial music project rooted in dark synth, rhythmic pulse, and a lifelong passion for sound exploration. Born in New York and now based in Austin, Texas, Rona grew up surrounded by music - taught keyboards and guitar by her father, and drawn early on to beat-driven rhythms and synth-forward bands like Depeche Mode, Curve, The Cure, and The Smiths. Her musical journey moved naturally from piano to guitar to drums, and eventually into electronic music production, where she could blend beats, melody, and mood on her own terms .
In 2016, Rona launched her solo project SINE, bringing together her background as a multi-instrumentalist with a fresh, danceable approach to industrial and dark electronic music . Since then she has released a growing catalog of music including her early albums INSOMNIÆ and Injected, and the curated collection Desire, Denial and Paramania — a comprehensive look at her evolution through favorite tracks, standout videos, and remixes by collaborators like Meat Beat Manifesto, NITE, and others.
In 2024–25, SINE signed with Metropolis Records, releasing the industrial-electronic single “Succumb To Me”, co-produced with Curse Mackey and mastered by Mark Pistel - showcasing a sound that blends EBM, electronic experimentation, industrial grit, and unexpected groove . That period also saw extensive North American touring alongside artists like Void Palace and Clan of Xymox, including appearances at festivals such as Cold Waves XIII.
Rona’s approach to music is both fearless and exploratory. She’s built her live show to be modular and adaptable - using soft synths, drum pads, and arrangements that can shift between solo electronic performances and collaborations with other musicians, depending on the context . She is also known for her openness to collaboration, whether writing with guest artists or inviting producers to reinterpret her work, all while staying true to the emotional core of her sound.
Whether you’re into industrial, synth-driven electronica, or curious about building a musical path that blends DIY ingenuity with global touring experience, this conversation promises insight, inspiration, and real-world wisdom.
