Make your stage plot

Setting up the stage

How it works

  1. Put everyone where they stand

Start from your lineup, then drag people, amps, mics and wedges into place. Plain line drawings with a label on everything, so it reads at a glance and prints clean in black and white.

  2. The input list fills itself in

Every mic and DI on stage becomes a channel, drums first and vocals last. Change the plot and the list changes with it, so the two always match.

  3. Download a clean PDF

The plot and the input list together, with monitors, power and your contacts, on one page for most bands. Send it with the advance, or print a couple for load in.

Stage plot questions

What engineers want to see, and how this tool handles it.

What is a stage plot?

A one-page drawing of where each person and piece of gear sits on stage, seen with the audience at the bottom. Venues use it with your input list to set up mics, monitors and power before you arrive, so line check is quick and nobody has to guess.

What should a stage plot include?

Where everyone stands, with their names. Drums, amps, keys and anything else that needs a mic or a DI. Who has a wedge and who is on in-ears, and what they want in it. Where you need power. Risers and their sizes. Which gear is yours and which you expect the venue to have. Your input list, a contact who knows the gear, and a date, so the engineer knows it is current.

What is an input list, and how is it different?

The input list is every channel the engineer needs at the desk, in order: kick, snare and the rest of the drums first, vocals last, with the mic or DI, the stand, and whether it needs 48V phantom power. The stage plot shows where things are; the input list shows what plugs in where. This tool builds the input list from your plot, so the two always match.

Is this really free? What's the catch?

It is free with no account, no watermark and no limit on plots. The PDF carries one small line in its footer saying where it was made, and nothing on the plot itself. Tourouter makes tour management software for bands, and we give this away because a band that needs a stage plot is a band about to tour. If you are booking a whole run, the app is free to plan with too.

Where are my plots saved?

In this browser, on this device. Nothing goes online unless you ask for a live link. To keep a copy or move a plot to another computer, use Save plot to edit later, and open the file here again whenever you need it.

What is a live link?

One web address that always shows your newest published version, for the advance email, the venue, or the QR code on your printed PDF. Anyone with the link sees the plot, the input list and your contacts' names, roles and emails. Phone numbers stay hidden unless you turn them on. Edits stay on your device until you press Publish changes, older versions stay readable, and you can take the link down at any time.

Can I keep my plots in an account?

If you want to. Once a plot has a live link, choose Keep it in Tourouter, then log in or make a free account. The plot is listed in your account, where you can open it or take its link down from any computer. You still edit it here, and the link stays the same.

I'm a sound engineer. Can I send bands here?

Please do. There is a page with a link and a message ready to paste into your advance email, and bands need no account to make a plot.

How does this compare with other stage plot makers?

Most free makers stop somewhere: a watermark, a paid PDF, an account, or a share link that expires. Some do things this one doesn't, like console scene files or a 3D view. We wrote up eleven others beside ours, with prices as checked on each tool's own site.

What do I send the venue?

Download the PDF and send it with your advance, or print a couple for load in. It fits the plot and the input list on one page for most bands. The input list also downloads as a CSV for engineers who want it in a spreadsheet.

Booking the whole run?

Tourouter texts your whole band the day sheet every morning. Plan the run once, free.
