Jazz quartet stage plot template

Piano at stage right, drums at the back, upright bass at stage left, and the sax out front with a mic for announcements. The piano is the house's, as it is at most jazz rooms, with two mics on it.

Jazz rooms often mix lightly. The template mics the whole kit; delete what the room doesn't need to reinforce, and say so.

Stage left and right are the performer's, facing the audience. Scroll sideways to see the whole stage.

Power

What it asks of the venue

This plot needs 12 channels, which fits easily on a small club's 16-channel desk. It asks for 4 monitor mixes, and no power on stage.

From the house: grand piano. Check they have it when you advance the show; if not, bring your own or ask what they can do.

    Making it yours

    • Ask if the piano was tuned for the show. Put it in the notes so it gets asked.
    • If the drums don't need mics in a small room, delete those rows and say so.
