Four-piece band stage plot template

The most common band plot there is: drums on a riser, bass at stage right, the singer and guitar at center, a second guitarist at stage left, and three vocal mics. The drummer is on in-ears with a small rack, which also plays two channels of tracks; everyone else has a wedge.

The kit is marked as shared, the way it often is on a multi-band bill, where drummers bring their own snare, pedal and cymbals.

What it asks of the venue

This plot asks for 15 channels. A small club may have 16 for the whole night, shared by every band, so if you're on a shared bill, say in the notes which channels you can drop, such as the toms or the overheads. It asks for 4 monitor mixes and 6 power drops (places that need an outlet).

From the house: riser, bass amp. Check they have it when you advance the show; if not, bring your own or ask what they can do.

Shared with the other bands: drum kit. Agree who brings it before the day.

Making it yours

  • Drums come first in the input list and vocals last. That is the order engineers expect, and the maker keeps it for you.
  • If you only need two vocal mics, delete the third. Engineers would rather see a short honest list than a long hopeful one.
  • Every amp and pedalboard needs power. The power list shows each drop so the venue can run cables before you arrive.
